About
I am Jason Popowich, Board Director on the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association. My wife and I have raised two beautiful daughters who I have introduced to snowmobiling. Together we have been enjoying our wonderful provincial trail system for many years and have made many new friends while riding. I have always wanted to give back to the sport that has given us so much enjoyment.
I am a long-time member of the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association and served on the Board for two terms in the early 2000’s. I then stepped down to spend more time with my young family. At that time I promised a well known Director, Emily Grimes, that once our children were grown, I would have more time and would let my name stand for the position of Director once again. In 2021, I let my name stand and was elected as Director.
I have been involved with our local Club, the Yorkton Sno-Riders, for over thirty years. I served fifteen years as Club President and have served on the executive for over 25 years. I am extremely active in the Club, serving as one as our groomer operators, co-chairing the Club’s Groomer Committee, and I work at signing the access trails in and around the City of Yorkton. I have worked alongside fellow Sno-Rider Barry Bradshaw on many club projects. He is a man I truly respect and admire, and I am honoured to serve alongside him as well as the other great leaders who serve on the Board. I have many years in sales, marketing, promotions, and management experience which I bring to the Board table. I was elected and served on the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce executive, promoting and providing a strong voice for local business in 2016-2017. I currently serve as a Director on the Yorkton Exhibition Association Board and on the York Lake Regional Park Board. I am currently employed with Cargill as a Crop InputsRepresentative for the Yorkton South Territory, a role in which I enjoy providing solutions in the Agricultural industry.
I bring many years of experience with the Yorkton Sno Riders and various non-profit organizations so we can continue to improve organized snowmobiling within our province. When I let my name stand for the Board nomination, I promised to do my best to represent all clubs and all areas in the province. I am dedicated to providing strong leadership and support to the membership and member clubs. I want to continue to provide quality snowmobile trails for our future generations to ensure that Saskatchewan riders from all walks of life feel welcome and engaged in the sport we all love.
I am interested in hearing from your Club with suggestions as to what I can do to represent your Club in the future term. I am passionate for snowmobiling, and super excited to see our sport continue to grow in the Province.
Please feel free to call or email me if have any questions or concerns.
See you on the trails!
